Join Dr. Birkhead for a stroll along the woodland edges to listen and look for feathered friends. Bring binoculars or share park loaners. We provide a check list. Meet at the Boat House on Lake Delanor in the campground.

Join Dr. George Stanton to learn about the natural history of these important and often misunderstood arachnids. Bring a flashlight for a short spider walk. Meet at the outdoor, covered shelter next to campground Trading Post. Geared towards adults and families with children ages 8 & up. Pre-pay at Park Office or pay correct change at the door.

Second Saturday Sale in Hamilton

Spaces are $5. We need to know if you are coming and what you are selling . If you have a permit, you may sell baked goods or food items. You must be setup by 8. After unloading your vehicle, please do not park on Dogwood Lane so shoppers can park. You can park behind the Boutique on the Square, the church or the spaces on HWY 27 in front of Eatz. Spread the word to all your friends to come shopping!

2nd Annual Harris County Chamber of Commerce Mountain View Classic Golf Tournament


We hope you will make plans to join us on October 20th for a fun afternoon of golf, food and beverages at the Mountain View Golf Course at Callaway Gardens.  
This championship style 18-hole, par 72 Mountain View course promises to be a challenging but rewarding experience for any golfer no matter their experience or playing level.  Registration is just $550 per four-person team.  For each player, the fee buys an 18-hole round of golf, practice range time, lunch, unlimited beverages – including beer – and a day of enjoyment among fellow golfers and tournament sponsors.

Fall Hike on the Pine Mountain Trail

Join trail guides for a brisk, 4-mile, easy to moderate ramble along the ridge top. Enjoy great views on both sides of the mountain. Meet at the Callaway Gardens Store Overlook Parking lot on Hwy. 27 and end at the park office on Hwy. 190. Bring water and dress for the weather. Shuttles will take guest back to their cars.

Hopewell Haunted Trail

The Haunted Trail at Hopewell will be open this night for the final haunting of the season.
A fund-raiser for the Hopewell Fire Department, the annual Haunted Trail at Hopewell will open at dark and remain open until 9:45pm.
The event begins as a hayride into the woods.  Then, visitors are led along the walking trail by a guide.  Along the trail are scary creatures.
The trail is not recommended for children under 10 and not suitable for people who find it difficult to walk.  Flashlights are not allowed on the trail.

First Baptist Church Family Fall Festival

The 12th annual First Baptist Church Family Fall Festival will be held October 28th, at the First Baptist Church in Pine Moutian from 5-8. Festival goers will experince a hayride, Pick up Ducks, 2 moon walks, Mini Train, a cake walk, 16 foot slide, t-ball, The Bullsboro Bluegrass Band, and much more.

Harris County Cattleman's Association Monthly Meeting

Join us for the August monthly dinner meeting of the Harris County Cattlemen’s Association.
Cost of the dinner is $17.00 for non-members and $15.00 for members.  
Allen Deese of The Wildlife Group will speak at the Cattlemen’s dinner about planting perennial trees and shrubs to improve wildlife food sources.  The Wildlife Group is a nursery located in Tuskegee, AL That produces bare root and containerized trees and shrubs for wildlife and aesthetic benefits.  Deese will discuss types of plants, fruit maturity, combinations with annual food plot crops, and care and tending of trees.  Plant stock will be offered as door prizes.    
 
It  is very important that you call the Farm Bureau office @ 706-628-4274 to reserve your place by Friday, August 25th,  so we can accommodate everyone with a meal.
