Movies on the Beach at Callaway Gardens

MOVIES ON THE BEACH
Fridays at 9 p.m. (Admission begins at 5pm)
Robin Lake Beach
Included with admission or, after 5 p.m., $10 per person

Bring a blanket, chair or beach towel and curl up on the beach with Callaway Gardens watching a family-friendly movie every Friday night this Summer. Make every Friday fabulous this summer.  Admission is included with paid gate admission and overnight stays.  Annual Passholders, and up to five guests in the same vehicle, can enter for free with presenation of Annual Pass card and ID.  After 5 p.m., admission is only $10 per adult; $5 per child (ages 6 to 12); children five and younger are admitted for free.
Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show.

Butterflies and Bluebirds

Join the naturalist for a short walk and brief talk about butterflies and bluebirds. Both of these flying wonders have needs in order for you to attract them to your yard. We will review these basics and check on our bluebird boxes and demonstration butterfly garden. Meet at the Park Office.

SUMMER SUNSET MUSIC SERIES
Enjoy sweet sounds of Summer with live music from a variety of bands*, on Robin Lake Beach. Stop by the Robin Lake Beach Pavilion & Beach Bar for great food and drinks all night long.  Admission for day and overnight guests as well as Annual Passholders, and up to five guests in the same vehicle, is free.  Other than Special Events dates (shown with **), after 5 p.m. admission is only $10 per person. This stationary target shooting adventure is for ages 10 to adult. We provide basic instruction and all the needed equipment. Not geared towards large groups. Groups can contact us for a special time. Pay and pre-register at the Park Office. Meet across the from Park Office.

Take a net to dip in and see what inhabitants live in our lakes. Look for fish, frogs and lots of insects. We provide the nets, viewing scopes, and lots of interesting discoveries. Children must be accompanied by adults. Meet next to the Boathouse on Lake Delanor in the campground. Correct change only, or pay at the park office and bring receipt.

Daily Parking fee: $5

Watch Meteor Shower at FDR State Park

 
FDR State Park could be one of the best places in the area to view the Perseids Meteor Shower. The meteor Shower id expected to peak during the overnight hours of August 11-12. The stone amphitheater will be open for the viewing, opening at 10pm friday evening. For more infomation contact the FDR Park Office.

Second Saturday Sale in Hamilton

Spaces are $5. We need to know if you are coming and what you are selling . If you have a permit, you may sell baked goods or food items. You must be setup by 8. After unloading your vehicle, please do not park on Dogwood Lane so shoppers can park. You can park behind the Boutique on the Square, the church or the spaces on HWY 27 in front of Eatz. Friends of FFA Community Supper

Get your Taste buds ready. FFA students along with Friends of the Harris County FFA chapter are hosting a community dinner on August 14th. The dinner is scheduled for 6:30pm on Monday at the Harris County High School Cafeteria. The event is being sponsored by the Harris County Farm Bureau and will be free for the public to attend. Friends of the Harris County FFA chapter welcome any members of the public to come share a meal, meet the amazing young people in Harris County FFA, and learn how they can support the future of agriculture in Harris County. Alternative Financing Forum

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Celtic Bank, and the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce will host a Small Business Financing Forum on Thursday, August 24th at the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Businesses need access to capital to operate and grow their businesses.  However, traditional loans are not always available nor are they necessarily the best source of funds for all businesses.  At this workshop, a panel of experts will discuss alternative means for gaining access to the financing your business needs to thrive and grow.   

The program will be held from 9am to 11am on Thursday, August 24th at the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, 1200 6th Avenue, Saunders Board Room, Columbus, GA  31902. This is a free program thanks to the generous sponsorship of Celtic Bank.

Harris County Cattleman's Association Monthly Meeting

Join us for the August monthly dinner meeting of the Harris County Cattlemen’s Association.
Cost of the dinner is $17.00 for non-members and $15.00 for members.  
Allen Deese of The Wildlife Group will speak at the Cattlemen’s dinner about planting perennial trees and shrubs to improve wildlife food sources.  The Wildlife Group is a nursery located in Tuskegee, AL That produces bare root and containerized trees and shrubs for wildlife and aesthetic benefits.  Deese will discuss types of plants, fruit maturity, combinations with annual food plot crops, and care and tending of trees.  Plant stock will be offered as door prizes.    
 
It  is very important that you call the Farm Bureau office @ 706-628-4274 to reserve your place by Friday, August 25th,  so we can accommodate everyone with a meal.
