Show us your inner Robin Hood. Use only our equipment: compound or recurve bows, 30” arrows, standard, 80 cm target. Shoot 10 arrows. Best score in your age division wins (10-13, 14 & up). Prizes. Pre-register and pre-pay. You may register and pay to shoot twice and take the highest score. Meet across from Park Office.

Join us for a fire truck escorted dice run through the beautiful back roads of Harris County. This annual ride supports the volunteer firefighters of Harris County. The ride begins at Chattahoochee Harley-Davidson in Columbus and ends at the Cataula VFW. Join us at the Cataula VFW for our after-party event recognizing our public servants.
We will have live music, food and drink (for purchase), door prizes and a 50/50 raffle!

Three volunteer opportunities available. All must sign up in advance by calling the park office. No walk-ins; T-shirt provided. Free parking. (1) Horse Trail Clean Up (2) Trail Clean-Up (3) Discovery Table/ Learning Station managers,monitors, and hosts. Topics may vary.
 
Horse Trail Cleanup- Adults needed to clear bridle paths. Civilian Conservation Corps Fish Pools Clean Out- Adults or families with kids ages 8 & up needed to clear brush out of overgrown containment ponds built by the CCC. Discovery Table/ Learning Station managers,monitors, and hosts- Youth Groups, families, or adults welcome to share natural history and outdoor skills info to the public. Must have topic approved. Can use park props and supplies.

This championship style 18-hole, par 72 Mountain View course promises to be a challenging but rewarding experience for any golfer no matter their experience or playing level.  Registration is just $550 per four-person team.  For each player, the fee buys an 18-hole round of golf, practice range time, lunch, unlimited beverages – including beer – and a day of enjoyment among fellow golfers and tournament sponsors.

Join us for the August monthly dinner meeting of the Harris County Cattlemen’s Association.
Cost of the dinner is $17.00 for non-members and $15.00 for members.  
Allen Deese of The Wildlife Group will speak at the Cattlemen’s dinner about planting perennial trees and shrubs to improve wildlife food sources.  The Wildlife Group is a nursery located in Tuskegee, AL That produces bare root and containerized trees and shrubs for wildlife and aesthetic benefits.  Deese will discuss types of plants, fruit maturity, combinations with annual food plot crops, and care and tending of trees.  Plant stock will be offered as door prizes.    
 
It  is very important that you call the Farm Bureau office @ 706-628-4274 to reserve your place by Friday, August 25th,  so we can accommodate everyone with a meal.
